Solar-pioneers Heike und Michael Köhler have spent over 6.000 days on board of their yachts and sailed over 75.000 NM all around the world. After travelling the oceans on conventional motorboats and sailboats for 40 years, they came to the conclusion that there had to be a better way to supply the propulsion system and the onboard appliances of yachts with energy. SILENT-YACHTS was founded on the dream of making luxury yachting work truly hand in hand with nature by minimising the impact on the marine environment while still providing utmost levels of comfort without compromises. Instead of retrofitting existing catamarans with solar panels and electric motors, SILENT-YACHTS are designed and purpose-build to be fully solar powered from the very first time the pencil touches the paper. Currently, the production of the Silent-Yachts model range takes place at 2 shipyards. One shipyard in Italy consists of 5 modern, fully equipped hangars for building and outfitting the SILENT 60 series as well as the SILENT 80 series. Besides the yachts, it also produces a new range of electric SILENT tenders, starting with the SILENT T400 model. Furthermore, the second production facilities in Turkey are responsible for crafting the entire SILENT model range (60 series, 80 series & 120 series) as well as a joined collaboration project - the SILENT VisionF 82.
